Congratulations on taking the first step to a healthier, happier and more energetic you. During this 8 week challenge you won't find any strict diets or expensive gimmicks, just 8 weeks of workout plans for you to follow to transform your body. The plan is looking to develop your skills and add functional, effective exercises to your routine.
This program starts off at beginner/intermediate level of difficulty and fitness. This programme progresses your fitness, with small incremental increases in challenge and duration. Pay close attention to the rounds and sets as well as your reps and rest time, these will change the further you get into the program. Sessions should take 30 – 60 minutes over the course of the programme.
If some exercises are too hard for you to complete you can modify them. If you can't do a push up, go onto your knees. Push yourself to the point where you feel exhausted (but not dizzy or pass out)- to monitor your effort level, we recommend purchasing a Myzone Belt. This equipment will allow you to track the progress of your heart rate throughout your workout and allow you to work to target Heart Rate zones.
The equipment needed is a kettlebell, TRX or Bar and skipping rope. This equipment is all available in all of Champneys gyms.
This programme has been specially designed by one of our personal trainers who have considered the different stresses and loads placed on the body. We will aim to limit muscle soreness but you may feel muscle discomfort a day or two after lifting weights. We assure you that this is NORMAL. Especially for a novice. If you experience pain or discomfort, please consult a medical professional such as a physiotherapist, podiatrist or GP.
Please note that the cost of the programme includes ONE personal session per week. However, we will always be on hand to help you however we can.
